You will find that the team at Exceed Fitness and Health are very different from other fitness centres.

Firstly, we are very friendly.  Yes, we will say hello when you arrive and when you leave.

We focus on making your stay with us a stimulating and worthwhile event.  We want to make sure that you achieve what you set out to achieve.  We don’t want to sell you something you’re not going to use.  So we start by making sure you select the right membership. 

Our instructors are each experts in their field who are only too glad to help you achieve your goals.

Fitness Instructors

Shannon – Fitness Instructor

Shannon is our longest serving staff member.  Some will say that she started the gym.  She started with the previous owners about 5 years ago when they established eGym.  Needless to say, she has stikkability.  Shannon is mad about RPM and loves getting members into her class.  Shannon has 6 years experience as a fitness instructor and used to run the gym by herself.  Although these days her responsibilities include managing our sales campaigns she still likes to work with members on the floor. She has a reputaion of being a bit tough on members when she reviews their programme. 

 

Hans – Fitness Instructor

Hans joined us at the end of 2011. He’s just finished his Bachelors in Health and Physical Education and is now doing one more year at Teacher Training.  Hans will mainly work in the weekends plus some evenings if his schedule allows it.  As those who have worked with him can concur, Hans is very serious about getting the right programme for you and encourages you to be your best.

 

 

Danielle – Fitness Instructor

Danielle joined us this week as an experienced Fitness Instructor.  She has her Diploma in Fitness and has worked at Fitness 24/7 and at Configure Express before going on her overseas experience as a counsellor with the YMCA in America.  She has a strong interest in Fitness and will provide you with challenging options for your workouts.

 

 

 

Group Fitness Instructors 

Kate Brown- Group Fitness Instructor

Kate is known as being one of our most energetic group fitness instructors.  She immigrated to New Zealand in 1995 from Yorkshire in the UK, has 3 teenage children and has been involved in the Fitness industry the moment she arrived in NZ.  Kate’s involvement with Exceed started with AllBodz before Exceed took over.
Her passion is RPM, she teaches 6 classes per week, closely followed by BodyPump, with 2 classes per week.  She enjoys reading and spending time with her children. She is known for making people blush!!

 

Maureen Sutherland – Group Fitness Instructor

Maureen is one of our longest serving Group Fitness Instructors.  Her involvement with Exceed too started with AllBodz.  She has been teaching Group Fitness for approx. 15 years and during this time she has had 3 children and 1 husband.  Maureen used to worry us as we have all seen her teaching classes until just before the birth of her children. 
Originally Maureen did aerobics classes and then fell in love with Les Mills.  This resulted in her being a trained as a fully qualified BodyPump, BodyAttack, BodyStep and RPM instructor.  More recently Maureen trained in Zumba, Zumba Toning and Zumbatomic.  Maureen believes that Group Fitness is the best way to keep in shape and, above all, it keeps a person motivated to attend the gym for their health and fitness.
